Lovely Machine at a good price
I had a Singer 4423 before but needed something a lil more heavy duty but not an industrial machine. I saw this machine for sale ay Hobby craft and decided to give it a go.
It a very good machine. A little louder that I thought, but very sturdy. Its made my stitching more professional looking. It goes through layers a whole lot easier than my old machine. Only 2 things I would improve, 1 being the markings, as quater inch isnt shown properly by the foot, but with the proper foot thats not a problem and 2. The thread cutter bit should come out a bit more for people with not so dainty hands.
Overall, I love my machine and it makes me create more projects. Great buy

Just what I was looking for!
I have struggled for year with my old sewing machine. I had a pile of uncompleted projects as my old machine couldn't cope with thicker materials. My mum and I had a demo with a lovely lady in Yeovil who showed some machines. She listened to what we wanted and showed us our options. I ended up buying the Singer Heavy duty and I must its a dream to sew with. I have now hemmed all my jeans and finished off my half finished leather handbag, it coped with it all. Can not recommend this sewing machine and the service we got highly enough.

Excellent product
I was given my first Singer sewing machine for my 12th Birthday and have been sewing and using it since then. I am now 52 and decided it was time for a new one . I purchased the heavy duty model and am absolutely delighted with it .My husband firstly couldn’t believe I’d retired the old one and secondly how excited was over a sewing machine !
Excellent machine a few modernisations to my old one but nothing I couldn’t get the hang of quickly. Invited into store for a set up lesson which was great but I declined but for someone new to sewing is an excellent idea. Very happy sewer now raring to get going xxx

Basic strong and affordable
After 10 years of my old machine, I was looking for something which could cope with heavier fabric, whilst still enabling me to use my collection of snap on feet, give me help with threading (the perils of age) and do a range of stitches.
I had read some negative things about this range of models but so far so good. Don't expect it to do the clever whizzy things which electronic machines can do. But it can create one step buttonholes of acceptable quality, and do some pretty stitches. It may seem a trivial complaint, but I was disappointed in the cover supplied (basically paper). The noise has been criticised by reviews I have seen, but I found it reasonable after my old machine. Overall I'm pleased with my investment!

Love this machine !!
This is my second Heavy Duty Singer , I killed the last one through extreme daily hard work . I love these machines which are work horses and never let me down . Excellent for both experienced and novice machiners . Able to sew with ease through super thick upholstery fabrics and even fine sheer net . I tried to re use my back up machine when the first one died , gave up very quickly and bought the replacement at an excellent discounted price . Very happy .

Excellent machine for money.
This sewing machine is sturdy and reasonably quiet when running. It is simple to thread up and wind bobbins and believe that it will give long and trouble free use. it also copes very well with metallic thread which is vital an important factor for my type of use.

Fabulous, basic, machine.
Fabulous, basic machine. As an experienced dressmaker who owns an industrial machine, I wanted something that I could bring into the house to work on projects over the Christmas break. I did a bit of research beforehand and thought that this would be the best option for my needs. Honestly, I am very surprised at the stitch quality and speed. As an experienced dressmaker I know I don’t need, or use, a gazillion stitch options - a good straight stitch, zigzag and buttonhole are all I truly need and this machine provides those. Really very happy with it!
