Great fun!
I bought this to help keep me occupied as I have been unwell this year and can’t work. I have decorated it for my Mama, using acrylic paint pens. The boxes are not very big which made decorating them a bit of a challenge, as I did a different Christmas related image on each box and the shape of the boxes didn’t always suit it, but I had fun and am sure she will love it.

Fun to decorate
Have decorated one of your wooden advent calendars for each grandchild so thrilled that you had a new style this year. Love that it was pre painted, it saved a lot of work. Was a little disappointed with the quality of finish on the drawers, it was a bit rough & gritty in places unlike the main body. Gave them an extra paint but still rough.
I think I prefer all the drawers the same size but it doesn't detract from a fun item.
I think I get as much pleasure out of decorating these as the grandchildren get opening the drawers. Nice for them to keep from year to year.

Do not purchase this calendar - go for the tree.
I bought 2 of these to decorate for my nieces. I have previously purchased and decorated the train, tree and house advent calendars. They have all been well made and easy to decorate. I was therefore pleased to see a new style and keen and excited to make them for my nieces, hoping they would last them for years, like the others have for me. However on opening them, I realised that they were not of as good quality as the previous calendars. The pre paint of white was not uniform and had dried drips in places but I hoped once they were decorated with the numbers on them etc they would be fine. Unfortunately having decorated them both I discovered when trying to fill them that one had 2 drawers that would not open and the other 1 drawer that would not open. They were wedged in and in trying to free one the handle came away. Trying to run a knife down the sides also did not work. I did take both back to the nearest store. The 2 sales assistants could not have been more helpful in trying to assist and one actually managed to free one of the drawers (I subsequently had to shave it to ensure it could be freed again). I have improvised with the stuck drawers and given them to my nieces but have told them to discard them after Christmas and I will make them new ones for next year. If I could have given it zero out of five I would have. Please bring back the house and the train for next year.

Great fun, will order again.
I bought this last year for my daughter.
She thought it was a great idea. My son (much older now) has also asked for one this year.
I painted the one that I got and put number stickers on without problem. A couple of the drawers got a little stuck but we used a blade to unstick them. I put a variety of things, all different sizes in them. Lollies fit nicely in the bigger drawers, chocolate bears or single small sweets in the smaller ones
The only issue I had was that two of the bobble handles pulled off, but will stick those back on for this year or I may use something else.

Disappointed
Bought 2 of these for my grandchildren. However, when I unwrapped one to start the decorating process I thought I’d check first to see if the small things I’d bought to go in the drawers would fit.
Unfortunately 95% of the things I’d bought did not fit. Therefore they were of no use - unless you were putting an individual sweet in each drawer.
I returned them both and have now bought different calendars (again from Hobbycraft but not as nice as the snowmen).

Poorly finished, disappointing.
These are a fantastic design but unfortunately the finish on these is very poor. I’ve actually had to sand them, tweak them and put in a lot of work even before I could begin to decorate them. In one I even had to reglue on bits and pieces that had fallen off (these were click and collect and I didn’t think to check!). Don’t get me wrong they look great once finished but be aware the finish quality is very low.

Check drawers before painting
Bought for my 8 year old nephew..he had great fun painting it. Only issue was one of the drawers is stuck and won't open. which I didn't notice until after we painted it.

Snow man
Quite a sturdy item, easy to paint. Various size draws some could be smaller and some of the smaller ones could be bigger. But soon find chocolate and sweets to fill them
