A tin with a chopping board on top!
It's a mesh based metal tray just like the ones on the 3-tier trolley but with a loose lid and a clip on plastic extra piece for pens etc. I find the mesh base slips off my lap and doesn't allow me to store fine items like glitter or loose pins. The lid is moulded to fit inside the tray but mine slides up and down. There is no way to secure it so if the tray is tilted or dropped while moving it around the lid falls off, along with all the contents. The ridge around the lid does help stop things rolling off when used as a desk top though it looks and feels like a chopping board. If the lid had hinges and a clasp I might feel differently!!

More suitable to use on a table than lap.
More useful on a table than on a lap. Tried it on my lap but was uncomfortable and the lid kept sliding off. The box underneath is perforated metal so not suitable for storing anything that might leak. Used on a fold out table however it made for a perfect drawing platform and storage for pencils etc. So really depends on what you want to use it for. So lap Desk it sores low for a work station on a table and general storage for pencils, paper etc then a good buy.

Very good product
I just bought this and it is very good, plenty of storage, the lid does not move at all and it is comfortable to sit on my lap.

Lovely craft box with lid.
I bought it 2 days ago in the sale and went back today to get 2 more as I think it would be handy to organise my seperate crafts in. Alas it had gone back up by £12.50 and I wasn't willing to pay that after buying for £12.50 originally. I would definitely buy again if it goes in the sale but £25 is a bit high.

Well built - Good for 'TV Crafting'
Well built, good quality - metal with a wooden lid - and plastic 'storage bin' inside for pens / scissors etc which can be attached to the outside for easy access whilst in use.
I purchased it for half price in a sale, but it is sturdy enough to warrant its usual full price. Size fits snugly on your knee. Good for crafting whilst watching tv :-).

Not my best purchase…
It’s quite heavy, plus the lid does not stay on too well…it slides. I’ve had to buy some straps with clips on the keep the lid on so I would say a hinged lid more suitable with a catch to keep it closed when carrying.
Its ok but expensive for what it is…

A lap tray with a lot more storage than you think!
Having ordered online, when I saw the box I immediately thought to looked very small (Nope, I didn't check the size and I know I should have) however, upon opening and looking at it, it is a lot bigger than I first thought.
I wanted it to put my postage/delivery utensils/gubbins/rubbish in so it is easy to hand and everything fitted in easily, which is no mean feat because I have two large hand held tape dispensers I use to seal my boxes. It is by no means full either and you'd think it would be with two, well commercial hand held tape dispensers. I have all manner of other things in that I use for my ebay empire (Ha!) and still there is plenty of room.
I have actually bought a further two boxes as Christmas gifts and I'm sure they'll be loved by the recipient.
I also craft, so anything I want to sit and do while I watch the soaps is easily done on the top of the tray. I have added a couple of elastic bands to each side to hold the top on better (a catch might be an idea) as the dog was running for her life when the top slid off as I was getting up. Poor girl was flat out snoring her head off one minute and the next minute the top was landing within inches of her. I'm happy to say she wasn't hurt and soon resumed her snoring (isn't it funny when the dog snores, we find it cute but then if it was my husband snoring,he'd be getting a jab in the ribs or a kick lol! When Inca (our big softy black labrador) snores the floor vibrates it's so loud. If she is upstairs in bed, her favourite place (she's the proud owner for a lovely comfy king size bed - we sublet 6in either side of her!} we can hear her clearly downstairs even with the tv on ..but it's still cute <3
Other than the near miss, I love the lap tray and it can be used for many things - even to have your tea on (though i'd put a piece of non slip stuff on first to stop your plate making a bid for freedom) - all in all though, such a functional item for £12.50 it's a no brainer, buy one .. two, three or even more! I don't think you'd regret it.
