Magnifying excellent. Actual product not.
This was much smaller than I thought it would be. Not that much bigger than a normal yo- yo. I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. But it wasn't suitable for me and my cross stitch. I couldn't position it the way I wanted. It was awkward. I tried in my lap and on the table. Didn't work. It kept falling over and was very lightweight. The magnifying glass was really good. So clear! Even though it was small. I didn't try out the lights because I didn't want to ruin it as I had decided to return it. Which I did today. That was good. I bought something else in its stead. That is much better, also from Hobbycraft. The idea of a yoyo lamp is really good. It just needs to be bigger and more flexible and the base needs to be heavier. I know the idea is to keep it light and small so it's easier to travel with but I think it still needs adjustments. Sorry!!!!

Not ideal.
The lens an light combination to get her with the size and location of the arm restricts both the angling of the light and the manoeuvrability of any item held making it extremely difficult to position it where it is in focus. I would be sure you can hold what you want to work on in such a way as to be able to both see it clearly and get any tools or brushes at a workable angle before buying. It was not cheap for so awkward a piece of equipment.

Magnify with light
Helps see small items so much better, whilst being compact, and easy to pack away. Having AAA batteries makes batteries cheaper

Solid build great features
I love this wee thing. It’s great the way it folds together and unfolds into a stand that’s easily positioned. I bought it to check knife edges and saw blades for defects. It works great with clear magnification with the added bonus of good light. Solid build great product highly recommend.

Weighted base so light/magnifier can be positioned to suit your needs. Strong hinges. Good light. Portable!

Compact and useful
This small portable lamp is ideal to keep in your craft/sewing bag so that you always have a good light and magnifyer with you. Compact and strong, very good quality.

It's compact yet it's still big enough to use when making small things and the light that it provided is bright for it's small size
