Hobby craft A4 Watercolour paper pad
I recently purchased this item along with some watercolours and gouache on a 3 for 2 sale. I bought it as I am only just beginning to learn more on watercolour and thought it would be a good starting pad. Upon first inspection and test with this paper, it performed excellently and did the job well. After a week or so, I went back to make some bookmarks. As the paint dried, I could see the paper warping. I was very disappointed by this because the paper had worked so well before. Next time I need to buy some water colour paper, I might try something a little bit more expensive and check the reviews. I think it's a good product for beginners and would recommend it to anyone who just wants to try watercolour out.

Great value and quality
This paper is just as good, if not better than the more expensive brands of water colour paper. It can hold a wash easily and is thick enough for wet-in-wet and mixed media techniques. The spiral binding means it folds flat and is easy to use outdoors as well as indoors; and the A4 size fits easily into my art bag for outdoor sketching.

Not for me
I'm not a fan of this paper, it just doesn't seem to work as well as other branded paper pads. I tried it just because I was curious but wouldn't buy it again. It's being used just for practice rather than finished paintings. It is nice quality and a good weight but, for me, it doesn't do its job as watercolour paper well enough.

Watercolour paper !
Only been painting for year and this is 2nd sort of paper I brought and my favourite. It is also 300g thickness which my art teacher advices to get.
It is also reasonable compared with others of not such good thickness thou not tried any others from Hobbycraft personally - I've stuck to this one and always will.
Thank you

Good quality
Bought these for the water colour brush pens for my daughter brilliant quality. Would definitely recommend for beginners as at other places they are much more expensive for the same grade

Excellent price compared with other brands
Despite lower cost this product seems so far to perform as well as its much more expensive competitors. No excess buckling despite working wet in wet with no pre- stretching.

You get what you pay for!
This product is ok for practicing different techniques but little else. It buckled at the lightest touch of water so not suitable for wet on wet or serious painting...

This product is poor
Bought this pad as expected it to be perfect. Very very disappointed with it. I spent the whole time removing bits of paper that formed when wet. Would not recommend.
