Disappointed changed manufacturer
I bought a bunch of the black frames before and loved them and this week bought some more of the black and some of the white. They have changed design slightly but didn’t mind until I checked the hanging on the back. They are now tiny and on the white frame it popped clean off! It seems all the frames have the same hanging clip and don’t know if they will pop off when hung on the wall. Also with the black frames now the inlay is white instead of black which is a shame since the were colour matched before. They seem poorer quality and it’s a shame since I loved the previous ones and had no problem with them.

Lovely box frames
These box frames are really good quality. They’re not overly deep, but depending on what you’re using them for, usually look great when finished. Unfortunately I find the plastic wrapper does nothing to protect the frame itself, most of them have knocks/chips/dents/scratches in the shop and also if you order them online. I usually spend quite a while checking through the ones on the shelf instore, just to find a handful of non damaged ones, as I make items to sell and need them to be perfect. If the way these were packaged was better, they’d easily be 5*.

Be wary of the quality
Be wary of the quality. These frames look good and are easy to open and close to get your artwork in. They stand up on their own, which is great for display.
However the quality is very variable and often they come with dents, marks and scratches on the frame as well as scratches on the glass. I often have to send a portion of them back again as they are not up to the standard I want for displaying my work. Hobbycraft might be happy to sell their customers below par goods but I am not.

Great product. Excellent price.
I make personalised box frames, mainly for new babies but I have branched out a bit.
I have still been able to work through the lockdown as I'm a key worker, but to have crafting to keep me going when I can't go out has been invaluable for my mental wellbeing.
I've been lucky enough to be able to order supplies online, but I was on Hobbycraft Maidstones doorstep an hour before it re-opened for the first day.
It's a great store .... I didn't want to leave.
Great products. Great bargains. Great store.

Great for crafts or displaying items
Love these frames! They’ve changed a lot over the last year or so. The inner frame has changed from mdf which used to fall apart, to plastic which I didn’t like and now it’s a thick card which seems to work really well. Great for projects or displaying small items

great but...
I love these frames but I wish they had painted the mdf box inside to match the colour of the frame. I remove the mount and then have to paint the mdf. I can't quite work out why you'd need a mount for a box frame....

Brilliant Value
I’ve just purchased four of these frames. They are fantastic for framing my craft work such as a button hearts creation and a multiple joining of heart maps.
The depth between your craft design and the glass is really useful for chunkier pieces of work.
The frame looks really stylish too & even better that I bought these in the sale! However, I would pay full price for them.
Highly recommended by me.
