A very smooth gouache paint
I haven't tried this actual colour yet but I already have a set of these paints and so can attest to their quality. I bought this colour to augment the 10 colours I have. I'm new to gouache being more familiar with watercolour but after a lot of research decided that Winsor and Newton Designer gouache was the right one for me. Thus far I am content that I made the right decision. There's a learning curve to know how much water to use when mixing colours and when applying, but the smooth opaque finish looks great and it goes on smoothly (on NOT/cold press watercolour paper). My suggestion is that you also get a ceramic palette to mix it on as it is much harder to remove from a plastic one that watercolour paint is. Happy to recommend this paint.

Perfect for calligraphy
This gouache is perfect for calligraphy. It’s silky smooth so glides easily across paper and allows perfect hairlines and thick downstrokes. It’s actually much easier to write with than ink!
