Wooden Letter Tiles 114 Pieces

Rated 3 out of 5 by from How many Zs can one person need? The printing of the individual tiles is varied in quality - some are well centred and clearly printed, others are one of these but not the other and some are both very off centre and not well printed. Also, there is no consistency in numbers of letters provided, which would make sense if there were say 3 full alphabets then extra common letters (vowels, R,S,T etc.) to make up the remaining number of tiles, but I got 5 Zs and only 4 each of most other letters (fortunately only two Qs). I can write the word Zanzibar twice, with a spare Z still, but then I have no As left to use for other words. Could do with thinking this out a bit better, Hobbycraft!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very expensive when you have to keep buying! I use these tiles a lot in my craft making. Over the last 6 months the price has increased drastically. I wouldn’t mind so much but the quality has gone downhill massively. The sticker backs are no longer cantered and stick lopsided on to things. Not only that but a lot of the letters appear not printed properly or smudged. My biggest issue is the last of common letters. I have purchased over 30 packs of these and regularly have to buy more packs just for the letter ‘A’ or ‘S’ so a name with multiple of these is a pricey thing! I’ve found the same thing for cheaper now at a different store. Disappointed as I have a Hobbycraft close by but it’s not worth the cost anymore!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product with an even letter distribution Bought these letters for card making for people who like Scrabble, they make great card toppers. Had fun sorting them to see if there was a random distribution of letters or if it was equal! There were 6 of each vowel and 4 of each consonant (apart from Q which had 2) plus 2 ampersands.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely product with 1 exception So i brought this product to use to make some christmas presents and they have come out lovely, however there is one slight issue. You need to make sure you buy enough bags i have found that i have not had enough of the letter S. It would be awesome if they did smaller bags of like 10-15 of 1 letter so you don’t have to buy a whole bag.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for basic crafts I do like these letters - the sticky backing is very strong and they're all the same size. However, the printing is often wonky so if you place the tiles in a line, the letters are all at different heights. It would also be better if the bags were sold with the number of letters proportional to letter frequency, not just random - I don't need 7 Z's but more than 4 E's might be useful!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for crossword picture Love the wooden tiles - makes a really nice looking picture. Printing of letters on some tiles is not as clear as on others and not all letters are in the centre of the tiles. You do get a good number of each letter and more of the more common ones but you do end up with lots of leftovers and unnecessary letters. It has taken me three packs to do four crossword pictures with family names in order to have enough As so now have a huge number of leftover letters. Would be helped by better thinking about how many of each letter you get - how many people need a pack with 5 Zs? That said I do like the product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Scramble tiles are versatile! The tiles are great for all types of projects, but there are not enough vowels or letters which are used frequently in language. You end up with too many letters such as Z, Q , X, J. You end up buying more and more packets to complete a project. You should be able to purchase individual letters by the packet also. E.g A packet of A or E.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tiled family trees I have recently made two family trees using the wooden tiles. One for my niece as a gift on her wedding day, and the other for my parents on their 66th wedding anniversary which included their children , grand children and great grand children . They looked great and were really well received. My grand daughter age 8years was watching me as I linked the names together and then she also made one of her family. It was fun to do and they bought great delight to the recipients. My only disappointment was that some of the tiles in the packets were of a poor quality wood and the letters were blurred and faded which meant we had to buy more packets to complete the family trees.
