smooth operation
I find these open ended zips great as they have a smooth operation on opening and closing. I buy them as I make my male dog his made to measure trouser suits as he is a little chunkier than my female. I am able to buy them off the peg for her, so I took one of hers to pieces and made a pattern for my boy. Then I buy waterproof trousers and use the material to make one for him that fits him perfectly the zips being perfect for the job. I also buy the bias binding to edge it which also does the job and looks very professional.

Open-ended navy zip
Searched on-line for an open-ended navy zip which was suitable for a child's knitted jacket. Found this product on line but went to the store to purchase, where I could measure it against the jacket before purchasing. It was the correct weight for the Aran wool and the zip teeth knitted together easily. The turn in at the closed end was about 2cm, sufficient for securing and disguising the end. Good to know that Hobbycraft supply zips in different weights, lengths and colours.
