Cardboard Drum

Step 1: Gather all your tools and materials in preparation for your project.

Step 2: Using the roll of tape as a template, draw four circles. Two on the gold card and two on the corrugated card.

Then cut them out.

Step 3: Apply a layer of glue to the corrugated card, and then stick the gold card on top. Repeat this process.

Step 4: Stick a length of tape on the gold side of each of the card circles, and then turn them over and cut off any excess card.

Step 5: Cut a 20cm length of twine and then thread a bead on each end, securing it with a knot.

Step 6: Flatten the top of the straw with your fingers.

Step 7: Lie the twine down across the back of the card circle, and place the flattered end of the straw at the bottom.

Then, apply a generous layer of glue and place the other card circle on top to sandwich the straw and twine in between.

Step 8: Finally, place something heavy on top while it is drying to keep it flat.

Little Drum

Step 1: Gather the tools and materials required to complete this project.

Step 2: Cut the cardboard tube to roughly 8cm in length - you could use a craft knife for a neater finish.

Step 3: Pierce a hole either side of the tube and thread through approximately a 25cm length of the red ribbon.

Top Tip: Give the needle a good wiggle to make the hole bigger.

Step 4: Using a sharp pencil carefully push it through one layer of the cardboard tube to create the handle for the drum.

Step 5: Thread some beads onto each end of the ribbon and secure it with a double knot.

Step 6: Cut the rounded end off of a balloon.

Step 7: Stretch the balloon piece over the end of the cardboard tube.

Step 8: Secure with small pieces of tape, and then repeat with the other side to finish.

Paper Plate Drum

Step 1: Gather all the tools and materials you will need to complete this project.

Step 2: Punch some circles from the red tissue and then repeat with the yellow and gold.

Step 3: Apply some glue onto the outer side of the plate, then stick on the circles and apply another layer of glue over the top of the whole plate. Leave to dry.

Step 4: Cut two lengths of ribbon roughly 15cm long. Tie a double knot on the end of each one, and then thread on a small bead and then a larger one.

Step 5: Glue the lolly stick at the bottom of the paper plate for a handle, and then the ribbons either side to create the drum beaters.

Step 6: Glue around the lip of the plate, covering the lolly stick and the ribbons, and place the other plate on top to finish.

Top Tip: For a little more stability in the drum, you could add another lolly stick in the opposite position.
