Get set for upcoming New Year's Eve celebrations with this super-simple and effective star design, created using the Snazaroo Ultimate Party Pack.
The pack has everything you need to create this versatile, starry design. You can even use different elements can to create a face paint design on other areas of the body, such as an arm or hand.
Project and instructions by Sam Green.
You will need
Use a damp (not wet) sponge to apply the first layer of colour. We've started with white blended with blue to create an ombre effect over the left eyebrow.
Use a fine paintbrush to begin the white line for the 'shooting star'.
Create the detail elements of the design using the white paint to create swirls and flourishes, adding a small dot to the end of each flourish.
Create a stencil from a scrap of card, using a craft knife or scissors to cut a star shape. Position the stencil then use a sponge to apply paint directly over the stencil, remove the stencil to reveal the star design.
Create depth to some of the stars by using blue paint to create a shadow, then add some additional 'cross' stars in dark blue.
To complete the design, add a few more white dots to create a galaxy of stars.
Top Tip: Apply paint to the brush and use your thumb or finger to add a delicate selection of paint speckles.
Your New Year's Eve design is then complete!
The star design can also be adapted for other areas of the body... Why not try adding small star details to your arm or hand?!
