Step-1
Make 2 SOLID SQUARE in colour A and C.
Step-2
Rnd 1: ML, ch3 (count as tr), 2tr, ch2, 3tr, ch2, 3tr, ch2, 3tr, ch2, ss to top of ch3 to join. Rnd 2: ch3 (count as tr) 1tr next 2 sts, *[2tr, ch1, 2tr] in ch2 space, 1tr in next 3, repeat from * 2 more times, [2tr, ch1, 2tr] in ch2 space, ss to top of ch3 to join. Rnd 3: ch3 (count as tr) 1tr next 4 sts, *[2tr, ch1, 2tr] in ch1 space, 1tr in next 7, repeat from * 2 more times, [2tr, ch1, 2tr] in ch1 space, 1tr last 2 sts, ss to top of ch3 to join.
Step-3
Rnd 4: ch3 (count as tr) 1tr next 6 sts, *[2tr, ch1, 2tr] in ch1 space, 1tr in next 11, repeat from * 2 more times, [2tr, ch1, 2tr] in ch1 space, 1tr last 4 sts, ss to top of ch3 to join. Rnd 5: ch3 (count as tr) 1tr next 8 sts, *[2tr, ch1, 2tr] in ch1 space, 1tr in next 15, repeat from * 2 more times, [2tr, ch1, 2tr] in ch1 space, 1tr last 6 sts, ss to top of ch3 to join. Rnd 6: ch3 (count as tr) 1tr next 10 sts, *[2tr, ch1, 2tr] in ch1 space, 1tr in next 19, repeat from * 2 more times, [2tr, ch1, 2tr] in ch1 space, 1tr last 8 sts, ss to top of ch3 to join.
Step-4
Rnd 7: ch3 (count as tr) 1tr next 12 sts, *[2tr, ch1, 2tr] in ch1 space, 1tr in next 23, repeat from * 2 more times, [2tr, ch1, 2tr] in ch1 space, 1tr last 10 sts, ss to top of ch3 to join. Rnd 8: COLOUR D-ch3 (count as tr) 1tr next 14 sts, *[2tr, ch1, 2tr] in ch1 space, 1tr in next 27, repeat from * 2 more times, [2tr, ch1, 2tr] in ch1 space, 1tr last 12 sts, ss to top of ch3 to join. Cast off and weave in the ends.
Step-5
Make 2 squares with colour A and B. Round 1: Colour A – ML, ch3, 2tr, ch2, 3tr, ch2, 3tr, ch2, 3tr, ch2, all into magic loop, ss to join. Ss in next 2 sts and into the ch 2 sp. Round 2: [Ch 3, 2tr, ch2, 3tr] into ch2 sp, [3tr, 2ch 3tr] into each ch2 space round ss to join, cast off.
Step-6
Round 3: attach colour B – into any ch2 sp. [Ch 3, 2tr, ch2, 3tr] into ch2 sp, *3tr in sp between tr clusters from previous round. [3tr, 2ch 3tr] into ch 2 sp.* repeat from * round, end on 3tr, ss to join. Ss in next 2 sts and into the ch 2 sp. Round 4: [Ch 3, 2tr, ch2, 3tr] into ch2 sp, *3tr in sp between next 2 tr clusters from previous round. [3tr, 2ch 3tr] into ch 2 sp.* repeat from * round, end on 3tr, ss to join. Cast off weave in the ends.
Step-7
Make 4 squares with colour A and D Round 1: Colour A – ML, ch3, 2tr, ch2, 3tr, ch2, 3tr, ch2, 3tr, ch2, all into magic loop, ss to join. Ss in next 2 sts and into the ch 2 sp. Round 2: [Ch 3, 2tr, ch2, 3tr] into ch2 sp, [3tr, 2ch 3tr] into each ch2 space round ss to join, cast off.
Step-8
Round 3: attach Colour C into any ch2 sp. [Ch 3, 2tr, ch2, 3tr] into ch2 sp, *3tr in sp between tr clusters from previous round. [3tr, 2ch 3tr] into ch 2 sp.* repeat from * round, end on 3tr, ss to join. Ss in next 2 sts and into the ch 2 sp. Round 4: [Ch 3, 2tr, ch2, 3tr] into ch2 sp, *3tr in sp between next 2 tr clusters from previous round. [3tr, 2ch 3tr] into ch 2 sp.* repeat from * round, end on 3tr, ss to join. Cast off weave in the ends.
Step-9
Putting your slippers together: Take your large square and place it wrong side up in a diamond shape. Lay your square made with yarn A and B right side up lining the top corners up. Using yarn C, join the top corners of both squares together and ch1.
Step-10
You now want to start joining your squares together. Line your stitches up and work 1dc along to the 1st ch2 sp. Fold over the side of the bottom square to line the stitches up to the top square. Work 1dc along to the next ch2 sp.
Step-11
Fold over the other side and continue to work 1dc in each stitch round back to where you started. Ss to top of first dc st to join. cast off and weave in the ends.
Step-12
Take your last 2 squares and position them as shown below. Using yarn A line up the stitches and 1dc along ach side to join the squares onto the sole.
Step-13
Line up the sides of the back squares to make the heel. Using yarn D and a darning needle. Sew the 2 squares together up to the top edge. Alternatively you can crochet 1dc in each stitch as before. Cast off and weave in the ends.
Step-14
RIGHT FOOT: Join yarn C to the bottom of the heel as shown below. Work 1dc in each st up to the last 3tr cluster, Ch 20 and ss back into the same st to make button loop. Continue to work 1dc in each st round (work 2dc on each corner sp) till you get to the other side of the slipper as shown below, ss to join to the sole, cast off and weave in the ends.
Step-15
LEFT FOOT: Join yarn C to the bottom of the heel as shown below. Work 1dc in each st up to 1st corner (2dc in corner sp) 1dc along the top edge, (2dc In corner sp) 1dc to bottom of first tr cluster. Ch 20 and ss back into the same st to make button loop. Continue to work 1dc in each st as shown below, ss to join to the sole, cast off and weave in the ends.
Step-16
Attach buttons: Using a needle and some thread sew a button onto the outside square opposite the button loop.
Step-17
And now you have your prefect day slippers, ideal around the house or after a day at the beach. Why not make several pairs ready to offer your guests when they come to stay.
