How to Make a Gold Ceramic Pumpkin

Ceramic tea light holders are a great way to add a spooky atmosphere to any Halloween party, and this ceramic pumpkin can be used inside or out.

Metallics are a continuing trend, so I've kept it simple and used metallic spray paint to decorate my pumpkin, but you could also use metallic acrylic paint, or even gold leaf for an extra decadent look.

Hazard warning: Do not light with a naked flame. If you intend for the pumpkin to be lit up inside, only use LED tealights.

How to make

Step 1
Start by covering your work surface in a protective layer of newspaper, secure to the surface using masking tape.
Step 2

Start by spraying the top of the pumpkin, making sure to give it a nice even coat. Leave to dry.

Rest the pumpkin on the stalk section, to allow you to be able to spray the underside of the pumpkin. Leave to dry.

Step 3

Add LED tealights to the inside of the pumpkin.

Warning: Do not use naked flames, only use LED tealights.

Step 4

There are lots of different ways to personalise your pumpkin, from adding adhesive gems, to painting on black glitter spiders.

Just keep in mind whether the materials are suitable for the area in which you are putting them (for example inside or outside).
