Step 1

Using the green Craft Foam, cut stripes measuring around 5cm of an A4 sheet along the long edge. Cut out an irregular zigzag as shown in the picture.

Using a glue gun, apply glue to the bottom edge of the grass and stick around the crown of the hat. You will need one and a half stripes from an A4.

Step 2

Measure the fence around the hat crown to mark where you need it to be trimmed. Cut with scissors and remove one pallet from the fence, use the empty loop to attach the fence to the other side.

Use a glue gun to fix the fence on top of the grass.

Step 3

Cute a few 2cm strips of acetate to make the letters support base. You will need one stripe for each letter and one for the Ladybird.

Fold the stripe base four times to create a stand as shown in the picture.

Step 4

Use two Ladybirds if you want your hat to look good at the back. When all your acetate support is ready, start to glue with the hot glue gun, use plenty of glue until all acetate stripes are firm in place.

Step 5

From the stripes you've cut on step 1, cut a “grass crown” made of green foam. Attach to the hat with the glue gun.

Cover the hat base with green shredded tissue paper, and use the glue gun to fix it. Make sure you hide all the glue and acetate base.

Step 6

Bend the wire stem from the flower head and tuck behind the foam grass. Glue the flower head with lots of hot glue. Alternate the type of flowers to give interest.

Step 7

Now that your main piece is ready you can distribute and arrange the variety of embellishments like cute Micro Chicks, Bright Eggs and Vivid Whimsical Mushrooms. Hot glue is the best way to keep all elements in place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Easter bonnet ever! Great hat! I made this a few days ago and it looks amazing! It did take a long time to make but it is worth it! Be prepared for a few hot glue gun burns and lots of retrying! Love it so much! Thanks!
