How To Make
Using a side plate and smaller saucer, draw and cut out 2 cardboard circles in different sizes.
Measure and cut 5cm off one end of a cardboard tube. Glue this small piece to the middle of the smaller cardboard circle.
Take the longer tube piece and stick it to the middle of the larger cardboard circle. Then stick the other end of the longer tube to the bottom of the smaller cardboard circle to join the pieces together. Leave to dry.
Paint the cardboard cake stand with lilac ready mixed paint, and leave to dry. Repeat a second coat.
Use the scallop trim template to draw and cut out lengths in pale green paper.
Stick the scallop trim around the edges of the cake plates, and leave to dry.
Finally, cut and stick a white pipe cleaner loop to the top of the cake stand for a handle.
Apply some glue to the bottom of the white cup cake cases, and place a 5cm yellow pom pom inside. Repeat with the pink and brown pom poms, and leave to dry.
Cut some tiny strips of pastel coloured paper and stick them to the top of each pom pom cupcake.
Add a red 7mm pom pom and allow to dry.
Use the template to draw and cut out 10 identical cardboard triangles.
Glue the cardboard triangles together, one on top of the other to create a layered cake slice. Leave to dry.
Paint the top of the cake with pink paint, and allow to dry, before applying a a second coat.
Glue some decorations to the top of the cake slice - brown felt chocolate curls, 7mm pom pom cherries and finally some pipe cleaner icing along the edges.
Cut the felt sheets into 8cm wide strips.
Take two contrasting colours, one for sponge and one for jam, and roll them together, sticking at the end with glue. Repeat to make more swiss rolls and leave to dry.
Glue a cluster of 7mm pom poms to the top of each swiss roll, and allow to dry.
Place all your cakes onto the cake stand wherever you like. You can either glue them down to make a lovely display piece, or leave them loose for a play set!
