How to Make Personalised Cork Coasters
Coasters are a great way to create a personalised piece of homeware to be enjoyed again and again.
Whether it’s to celebrate an occasion, remember a holiday or to make that perfect gift, this guide will show you how you can transform a set of cork coasters into something exciting using acrylic paint and pens.

You Will Need
* Cork Coasters
* Bright Acrylic Craft Paint
* Uni Ball Pastel Posca Marker Pens
* Matt Decoupage Medium
Draw or print your designs onto tracing paper, the same size as the coasters and cut them out.
Using a piece of tape, attach the tracing paper circle to the top edge of the coaster. Use this as a guide when transferring your design on the coaster by lifting the paper up and down to check you are drawing in the correct place. You will need to use a pen to mark the cork material, but don’t press too hard as you will scrape away the cork material.
With the designs sketched out and the tracing paper removed, it’s time to paint! You can use acrylic paints and brushes, or even POSCA and other paint pens too.
The cork will absorb some of the paint, so to get the brightest colours, you may need to do multiple coats of paint.
