Hi, I’m Lynette from Hobbycraft Greenford. I am an artist, illustrator, calligrapher and cake decorator. From a young age, my mum encouraged and inspired my creativity. She was a schoolteacher and cake decorator and she taught me all I know about cakes. I have decorated cakes for many occasions but my favourite cakes to create are the novelty ones – I especially enjoyed making a 3D cheetah cub!

Lynette's Makes
The elephant cake topper was entirely edible. It was made from rice krispies and marshmallow mix and decorated with fondant. It was a special cake as it connected three generations.
I particularly like the way the metallic acrylic paint highlights the glimmer of the ocean waves. I chose this scene as I felt it symbolises freedom and love.
I discovered calligraphy art whilst experimenting with different techniques. I really enjoyed the process and continue to create new drawings which helps me improve my skills.
