Bought for a different use
I was making a cape for Batman out of faux leather - long story - and knowing I would be unable to press the seams flat, stuck them down with double sided tape and used the hammer to press the seams down - success!

Handy Jewel Tool - Planishing Hammer
This small Jewel tool is also a Planishing Hammer and is perfect for many art and craftwork ideas.
I used it to remove dents from a brass ring around a vintage wall clock face that I was renovating.
The ball on the back and the curve at the base of the hammer are all designed for this. I was able to remove nearly all the dents and creases.
It is light to use but still strong enough for the job at hand.

Lovely weight and size
Used this hammer for flattening and work hardening silver wire. Takes some getting used to but it’s a good weight and quite easy to control. On softer wire or larger pieces it may leave some marks but that’s likely my technique since I’m a beginner.

Smooth wood, comfortable shaped handle, nice to use and sturdily build. I use for leather work not jewelry but it has no problem setting copper rivets so should be fine for most small scale applications
