Only for small pieces
I tried to use this on fondant that wa covering a cake board, but you had to press quite hard to see then pattern, but then it made lines either side of the pin. So I had to start again. I think it would be fine with a small pieces of fondant.

Love it!
I was initially disappointed when I saw the size of this however it has been my saviour. I was asked to make Christmas decorations with children and we needed various things to leave a pattern or print. This did the job beautifully. They look great and can be used on many other things than clay decorations! I've been and bought more since and am hoping that there's a bigger range to come.

Don’t use with pre-rolled icing it won’t work!
I have scored this 3 stars as it’s partly my fault but even so not a product I would recommend. I was keen to use this for a friend’s birthday cake but unfortunately it did not work at all as the pattern on the roller is not etched deeply enough to make any marks and consequently, It made no impression whatsoever on the icing.
This may be due to me using pre-rolled iced rather than, either the block icing where I could soften it and roll it thicker to allow the roller to make some impression, or, make my own icing. But time was a premium so went for the quickest option and it simply didn’t work. This was obviously due to the firmness of the pre rolled icing and it may work using the other options so be warned! Don’t do use pre-rolled with this roller.
Also, the roller is very very small, so if you’re buying online, the images make it look much larger, so be aware this is tiny and not the size of a standard roller. It measures approx 16cm x 1.5cm (6 and a half inches x 1/4 inch)

Great icing effect!
I bought this to add a bit of detail to a cake I was icing, and I was very pleased with the result! I had been slightly worried as previous reviews spoke about using with clay, but I can confirm it works just as well with fondant!

Absolutely love it
This rolling pin is very crisp. The print is extremely clear and it imprints very well into polymer clay. The depth of the pattern on the rolling pin is really suitable for working with clays.

Great detail
I love this tool, I've used it on porcelain and I'm looking forward to trying it out on polymer clay. It produces a lovely clear pattern and I'll be looking out in store for other patterns.

Swirly roller
Grooves for pattern quite shallow, needed to be deeper. Also bit small for working on large area. Pretty once all that sorted. Made nice effect around edge of large fondant cake.

Easy and effective
The roller is a great size for smaller areas and made a quick and effective impression with no fuss. Useful for polymer clay as well as icing.
