However, for me, there were three issues… firstly, if you had to undo anything, it lost its ‘twist’ so became a bit flat. I’m still a novice (at crochet) so made a few mistakes… but accepted that. I wanted self patterning wool and LOVED the colours, but would have liked the blend/ fade to be a little more subtle. I crocheted a blanket and it looked a bit blocky.. again I accept that as it’s just my personal preference. What I have knocked a mark off for is that in 4 of the 8 balls I used, there were a number of knotted joins mid ball; mostly one, but in one ball, 3. I was disappointed as I thought it was great wool in general.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tigger90 from Beautiful Wool I found this wool just before the first lockdown when I went shopping with my friend (also really crafty) - I’ve wanted a throw for one of our living room chairs for a while and decided lockdown would be the time to make one! The wool is thick and good quality. My only small criticism is that the strands that make up the wool can be loose at times through the yarn but it isn’t often and it hasn’t affected the overall quality of the throw. The three tones in the wool have made wonderful stripes through my project and I am loving watching it come to life; no row is the same. The end effect will be a thick, weighty, modern looking piece for our grey/mustard furniture so it fits in perfectly. Love love love the Women’s Institute Range!
