Easy to use, very small amount in tube
I only had to write happy Birthday !8th and the ladies name on the top of the cake, but I needed two tubes to do this. Great product, but very small quantities in the tube. I got half way through the writing and then had to drive 5 miles for another tube. Not sure whether I would buy this product again.

Fairly easy to use
The only issue I had was you need to chop the tip to use. If you don't chop it straight then the icing comes out all wriggly instead of straight. So made using it for straight lines a bit tricky. But otherwise I was happy with the product

Tastes awful
My daughter wanted black icing for cupcakes she baked for school cake sale. This one tastes weird, awful. Some children described it as blood.. it has an iron taste to be honest.

Cake Star Black Writing Icing 25g
Very very disappointed. I used this to just make little dots for eyes and noses on small Micky Mouse Meringues for a wedding. Two weeks later the blacking writing icing has still not dried. Will definitely not be using it again.

This product was better than expected
This was great , I just squirted some onto a saucer and then used a fine paintbrush to paint the hat, eyes and buttons of the marzipan snowman I had made for the Xmas cake.

Jet black opaque colour, writes well. has a bit of a liquorice taste but only noticeable if you eat a densely coloured bit of the cake

Vibrant colour but texture could be better
As this is specifically for writing it was quite runny, so the texture could have been a bit thicker, colour was very vivid though

A little tricky to control
This icing is a strong, shiny black colour, but the tube is a little difficult to control, hence the removal of one star.
