How To Crochet Hearty Boot Cuffs:Notes

The pattern is written using UK crochet terms. The boot cuff is made from the bottom up in a round. Each round is joined by a slip stitch. The pattern can be customised to fit any size.

Tension/ GaugeStep-1

Tension/Gauge is not hugely important for this project, just check that the cuff fits a few times throughout the process, or adapt the pattern accordingly.

Pattern: Foundation Chain Step-1

Ch 43, leave a 10 cm tail at the start of the chain. To change the size of your boot cuff, ch a number dividable by 3 + 1. Round 1: HTR in the 2nd ch from hook and continue working back along the chain. HTR in each ch along, joing with a sl st at the beginning of round but take care not to twist your work. When you have finished your boot cuff, use a darning needle to stitch together the gap in the foundation chain.

Step-2
Round 2: Beg 2TRcluster in same sts as sl st, ch 1, 2TRcluster in same st, *skip 2 sts, 2TRcluster, ch1, 2TRcluster in the next sts, repeat from * around, join with a sl st in the first 1ch sp.
Step-3
Round 3: Bed 2TRcluster in ch sp, ch1, 2TRcluster u same st, *skip 2 sts, 2TRcluster, ch1, 2TRcluster in next 1ch sp, repeat from * around, join with a sl st in the first 1 ch sp. Repeat Round 3 another 5 times or until the boot cuff reaches your required length.
Step-4
Round 4: ch 2, *HTR in 1 ch sp, hdc in next 2TRclusters, repeat from * around, join with a sl st in 1st HTR. Fasten off and sew in ends.
Step-5
Make another one! Well done! You have finished your boot cuffs!
