How to make

Step 1

Cut 15 meters of the Knitcraft Linen Return of the Mac Yarn in Linen and fold it into 3, so
you have 3 lenghts of 5 meters. This will act as the core of your basket – we'll reference it in
the instructions as 'Linen Core'

Cut 3 meters of the Knitcraft Linen Return of the Mac Yarn in Mustard — we'll reference
this as 'Mustard Yarn'

Step 2

Place the Mustard Yarn on top of the Linen Core, and wrap the Mustard Yarn 20 times around the Linen Core

Step 3

Fold the Mustard Yarn-covered end of the Linen Core to create a small eyelet

Wrap the Mustard Yarn twice around the base of the eyelet and thread your needle at the
other end of your Mustard Yarn

Poke the threaded needle up through the central hole of your eyelet — you've now done
your first stitch!

Step 4

Start to coil the Linen Core into a circle and follow the following pattern: wrap the Mustard Yarn 6 times around the Linen Core (your wraps should go from the back to the front, like a big L loop) and stitch one time though the central hole to secure it

Repeat this step — 6 wraps, 1 stitch — 6 times, so you've done a full round.

When you get to the beginning of the third round, your stitches will need to thread through
the space between the first and second rounds, instead of the central hole, to join rounds two and three together.

Step 5

Once you are left with 5cm of Mustard Yarn, it's time to change colour! Lay what you have left of the Mustard Yarn along the Linen Core
Cut 5 meters of your Jade Yarn and align the end of it with the Linen Core (at the front of
your coil).
You are now going to weave with the Jade Yarn. Bring it to the back, so you are able to do
your wraps in a letter L loop as before

As you do your first 2 wraps – make sure you catch both ends of the Jade Yarn & Mustard
Yarn to hide and secure them

Step 6

Do 2 full rounds with the Jade Yarn. If your 5m length of Jade Yarn is not enough to complete 2 rounds, (this will depends on how tight you made your wraps and stitches) cut
another length from your bundle and join in, as explained in the previous step

Step 7

To start building the sides of your basket, instead of working flat, coil the Linen Core directly on top of the previous round
Do 2 rounds in Mustard Yarn (joining in the same way) before switching to the Teal Yarn for a final round

Step 8

Finish your basket with the Jade Yarn. You will need 10cm left of the Linen Core for this colour – feel free to cut any excess!
Continue wrapping and stitching with the Jade Yarn until you've covered all the Linen Core
Feed the needle back through the stitches on the inside of your basket and trim the end you can tie a little knot to secure it
