How to Make a Chick Bonnet

* 33cm Yellow Easter Bonnet
* Fillable Eggs
* Yellow Craft Feathers
* Natural Raffia
* What A4 Foam Sheet
* Spray Paints - Blue, Pink and Gold
* Googly Eyes
* Glue Gun and Glue
* Scissors

Start by covering the head section of the bonnet with feathers using a glue gun to secure them in place.

Cut two wing shapes from white foam sheets and cover with the remaining feathers. Secure the wings to either side of the main hat section using a glue gun – hold the wings in place while the glue 'sets'.

Remove both bundles of raffia from their packaging and position around the brim of the hat, once happy with the positioning secure in place.

Now it's time to decorate the eggs…. Following the instructions on the back of the spray can, paint the eggs- I sprayed four blue, four pink and four gold. Due to the shape of the egg you'll need to spray the eggs in two stages – use craft tape reels to pop the eggs in whilst they dry.

Once the eggs are completely dry – this may take a few hours! – remove the invisible thread hanging loops from all but six of the eggs. Secure these to the brim of the hat, nestling them into the raffia. Attach the remaining eggs around the underside of the brim, I used a glue gun for speed but you could also use tacky glue.

Secure two googly eyes to the chick, and cut a triangle from orange foam to create the beak.

Your easter chick bonnet is now complete!
