Step 1

Cut a 1 x 70cm string, wrap it around the neck of the jar and make a knot (not too tight
as you will have to undo it later)

Step 2

Cut 64 x 60cm of strings. Pair them, fold them in half and tie them on the string on the jar
using the Lark's Head Knot. You will have 32 Lark's Head Knots.

Step 3

Cut a 1 x 70cm string, secure one end with masking tape. We call this string the 'guide
string'.

Step 4

Holding the guide string on your right hand, tie your pairs of strings on it, using the
Double Half Hitch knot. Make sure you keep your guide string as straight as possible.

Step 5

Starting from one end, you will be working with the first 8 pairs of strings. Take pair of
string #4 as a guide string and tie a diagonal of 3 Double Half Hitch Knots from right to
left. Repeat with the other 4 pairs of strings, going the opposite way.

will end up with 8 diamonds.

Step 9

Take 4 pairs of strings from one diamond and 4 pairs of strings from the diamond next to
it. Use the middle 6 pairs of strings as fillers and the first and last pair of strings as
working strings and make a Square Knot.
