Rated 4 out of 5 by Welsh Kathryn from Excelllent, good value, machine Dropped a star for the stupidly designed compartment, open ended so everything falls out and unworthy of Janome. Tried, straight, zigzag & decorative stitches including satin stitch on double layer light weight cotton with no stabiliser and it was perfect straight out of the box. Quiet, pleasant sound when sewing even at high speed. Excellent instructions and easy to use. Sews straight with little fabric guidance. No reason why this would not suit beginner to experienced. Needle threader works well. Makes it easy for me as an experienced dressmaker. Very affordable, fun and excellent value . I am very pleased.

Had a bit of trouble with the bobbin as wound too much but it's like everything, will get used to it. Easy to thread and the needle threader is a total godsend as I was having great difficulty threading my old Brother machine. First computerised one I have had and had a go at sewing some Christmas decorations that I started making last year and have to say the stitching looks professional and I am a novice. Well done Janome and thanks Hobbycraft for great customer service as my original purchase had no cover or manual so they put a boxed one by for me to collect. Very pleased I chose it.

This machine is brilliant!! so easy to use and loads of stitches to choose from, the needle threader is a game changer (especially if you're eyesight isn't great!) I like the option of being able to use the foot pedal or just the start/stop button too, easy bobbin, just press the button twice and it brings the thread up for you. The machine is quiet, lightweight enough to transport about easily if needed, and so easy to use with digital display. Highly recommend this sewing machine to anyone whether a beginner or experienced.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Kimbo2016 from OK but not for the more experienced sewer. I do like this machine, it feels more modern, although I think it is lacking in a few things. Admittedly I am used to an old NEW HOME that was built like a tank and weighed as much as one. So my first thing is that it is soo light in weight and eaily moves around on the work bench, I have to put an anti slip mat underneath. Secondly, it is not very good sewing more that 2 layers of fabric, it makes some quite clunky sounds when 3 or more layers are enclountered and the feed dogs refuse to move the material along without assistance. And no.3, it does not have a way of adjusting the presser foot tension manually, again like my old NEW HOME does, so it can chew lighter fabric up. It also skips stitches occasionally.

I’ve been sewing for quite a few years and needed to update a fairly outdated Toyota, but I was worried that a newer machine wouldn’t be as much of a work horse. What can I say except this machine is AMAZING!! I am in love! Loving the features, the ease of use, the variety of stitches and how neat and beautiful my sewing now looks! So happy with my purchase!

I would recommend embroidery machine thread for the applique stitches as other thread doesn't hold up. Take some time to get to know the stitches and machine if unfamiliar but once up and running it's brilliant. The start stop makes life easier for me as I have some hip issues and the peddle can cause some pain but no more with the simple start/stop 10/10

The best features about this machine are the ability to use it without the foot pedal and the speed control. Ì've always had a problem controlling the speed, so this is ideal. It's very easy to set up and the computerised display allows you to change the size of the stitch. Not sure I will make use of the 100 stitch options, but that won't matter to me. I'm a beginner, however (in my opinion):this will be useful regardless of skill level. Great brand at a decent price!

Stop/start, automatic needle threader, speed control and I love the drop feeddog button for free motion embroidery. You can also use the machine without the foot pedal if needed. Fast and powerful. I have lots of machines and up to now this has got to be near the top of the list.
