How to make

Step 1
Start by opening the project in the Cricut Design Space app using the project link at the top of this post, or alternatively use the link below - https://design.cricut.com/landing/project-detail/60e4d78b45964d0778809c51 To access the project, copy and paste the link into your browser, you will be directed to a Cricut landing page, select 'Open' followed by 'Open Cricut Design Space Application'. The app will open (you may be prompted to log in) and the project overview screen will appear. Select 'Customise'.
Step 2
Once the project has opened on the canvas screen, customise the written elements to suit your lucky recipients. Then change the colour of the elements to suit the iron-on vinyls you'll be using. The 'S' in this project we cut from kraft board.

Step 3
Once happy with the designs, measure the space where you would like the design to sit on your stocking and re-size as needed in the Design Space app. Top Tip - When resizing the elements for each stocking make sure all the elements are 'Grouped' so they all remain the same size.

Step 5
Once through to the machine set-up screen, select the 'Everyday Iron-on' cut setting and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the cuts.
Step 6
Weed the iron-on vinyl, removing all the pieces of the design you do not wish to transfer to the stocking.
Step 7
Use the Easy Press Heat Guide to determine the best settings for your EasyPress, and follow the instructions to secure the iron on vinyl design. If using two different colours of vinyl for the 'First Christmas' design apply the larger design first, followed by the foliage element, making sure to cover whole design so as not to overheat the first layer.
Personalise with tassels: Step 1
To further personalise the stockings you could add tassels. For the tassels, you will need cardboard, yarn and scissors. Begin by cutting a piece of card approximately 10cm wide.
Step 2
Pick your first colour and begin wrapping around the cardboard approximately 20 times.

Step 4
Cut a short length and tie it around the centre of all of the strings.
Step 5
Now cut a length approximately 50cm long in a contrasting colour and create a gathering knot around the top of the tassel, 2cm down from the top. When you have finished trim the ends.
Step 6
Trim the end of the tassel to neaten.
Step 7
Continue making tassels making sure to change the length of the hanging string so that some are longer than others.

Step 8
When you have finished, lay out the tassels in the way you want them to hang. When you are happy, take an extra length of yarn and tie a gathering knot around all of the ends. Secure to the stocking.
Personalise with macrame: Step 1
Follow these simple steps to create a macrame christmas tree to add to your stocking. Begin by cutting a length 40cm long. Fold it in half and secure to your work surface.

Step 3
Create a square knot approx. 2cm down from the top using the longer length.

Step 4
Now begin working square knots leaving a gap in between each knot. The first knot should be one finger space apart, the second should be 2 finger spaces apart. After each knot has been created, push it up to create the loops on either side. Continue creating square knots and increasing the space in between each one until you have 6 knots in total.
Step 5
Now trim all of the lengths to approx. 5cm and unravel the cord. Take another string, place through the loop at the top of the tree and secure to your stocking.
