Cricut: How To Make a Christmas Coupon Book
Project and how-to make instructions by Jen Harper
There is always so much going on at Christmas and often the run up to the festivities is the best part! Planning some fun activities will allow you to make the most of the winter season with those you love the most. These Christmas activity coupons make use of the new perforation tool which can be used with your Cricut Maker.
You will need
How to make
Start by opening up the Design Space app, and starting a new project.
Begin by making the front and back cover of your coupon book by inserting a rectangle that is 7" wide and 3" tall - I set mine to cut from red cardstock.
Attach either a Christmassy image or text to the front cover of your book.
Insert a series of 7 x 3" rectangles to become the inner pages of your book.
Under the 'shapes' tab, select score line and set the line type to perforation.
Attach the perforation line vertically, approximately 1" in from one of the short sides to each of the inner pages of your book.
Insert smaller rectangles (5 x 2"), one for each of the inner pages in your book.
I have set mine to cut from red cardstock to coordinate with the book's covers. Your text will be attached to these smaller rectangles; I used the font 'A Perfect Day', which is included in the Cricut Access subscription.
I set the text to draw in silver metallic marker.
My coupon booklet contained 12 pages, each featuring a different Christmassy activity. The activities I chose were:
a. Christmas shopping
b. Wrapping Christmas presents
c. Writing Christmas cards
d. Watching a Christmas film
e. Singing Christmas songs
f. Baking cookies
g. Watching a pantomime
h. Drinking hot chocolate
i. Drinking mulled wine
j. Decorating a Christmas tree
k. Walking in the snow
l. Lighting candles
Once happy with the layout, click the green 'Make it' button and follow the on-screen instructions to cut, draw and perforate your project.
Use a StandardGrip or LightGrip mat when cutting the cardstock.
Assemble the pages of your book using double-sided tape and/or a glue pen. Use a hole punch and a ribbon to bind your book.
