How to make

Step 1

Find a motif and print onto a piece of paper. Place the tissue paper over the motif and trace with the pencil.

Step 2

Sandwich the tissue paper and fabric in the embroidery hoop and gently pull it tight.

Step 3

Using an embroidery needle and assorted coloured threads, stitch the motif through the tissue paper.

Step 4

When the motif is completely stitched tear away the tissue paper to reveal.

Step 5

To neaten up the back, trim the fabric around the edge of the hoop. Then, either cut and stick down a piece of felt to the back of the hoop to hide the raw fabric edges or use a long basting/running stitch through the ends and pull the thread tight to gather in the fabric and tie off to keep in place.
