Step 1

Place the downloaded, printed and cut out circle template onto your tote bag and draw round it with a white paint pen (this will be the easiest colour to cover with your acrylic paint).

Colour in the circle with your fabric paint and paint brush, to ensure the paint doesn’t bleed through to the other side of the bag pop a sheet of newspaper inside of the bag whilst you painting.

Step 2

Add a curved line around the circle, adding stem lines for your flowers, it is easier to create a more finessed line using the posca pen here rather than the paint and brush however for the flowers you can use a brush and fabric paint.

To paint your flowers at the top of the stems paint two lines outwards to create a widened 'v' shape and then a smaller line in the middle of the 'v' shape.

Step 3

Add leaves along the stem line with the green POSCA and colour in.

Add the centre of your flowers in with the paintbrush in a bright pink colour.

Step 4

Once your circle has dried, take a pencil and add your slogan across the bag. If you’d like to create your own bespoke greeting use the alphabet download and have a practice of your letters before working your phrase onto the bag, or alternatively use the 'Adventure Awaits' template to replicate the design created in this project.

When you're happy with the layout, fill in the letters using fabric paint on a small brush or a POSCA pen.

Once the lettering is dry, your tote bag is then ready to use!
