Starting ch counts as first stitch. 

How to Crochet a Hot Air Balloon Garland:Step-1

Round 1: Ch4, slip stitch into first ch to make a ring,

Round 2: Ch3, 11tr into ring, slip stitch into top of ch3. (12sts)

Round 3: Ch3, tr into same space as ch3, (2dc into next stitch) 11 times. slip stitch into top of ch3. (24sts)

Step-2

Round 4: Ch3, 1tr into same space, (1tr, 2tr into nex st) repeat to last st, 1tr slip stitch into top of ch3. (36sts)

Round 5: Ch2, dc into each st, slip stitch into top of  ch2

Round 6-7: As round 5

 

Step-3

Round 8: Ch2, (1dc, inv dec) repeat to end of round, slip stitch into top of ch2. (24sts)

Round 9: Ch2 (1dc, inv dec) repeat to end of round, slip stitch into top of ch2. (16sts)

Round 10: Ch2( 2dc, inv dec) repeat to end of round, slip stitch into top of ch2 (12sts)

Round 11: Ch2, (inv dec) repeat to end of round,  slip stitch into top of ch2 (6sts)

Round 12: Ch2, 1dc into each st, slip stitch into top of ch2. 

Step-4

Round 13: Ch2, Dc in each stitch. 

Fasten off. 

Stuff your balloon using some toy or cushion filling. Make sure you squish it around until you get the desired balloon shape.

BasketStep-1

For the basket, make a magic circle

Round 1: Ch2, 9dc into ring, tighten magic circle and slip stitch into ch2

Step-2

Round 2 :Ch2, 1dc into each stitch, slip stitch into ch2

Round 3: Repeat round 2. 

Step-3
Leave a long tail so you can attach your basket to your balloon.
Step-4
Join another length of thread to the opposite side of your basket, and attach to your balloon – neatly tucking any loose ends up inside.
Step-5
Now your garland is ready to hang – i used a lengths of yarn threaded through the tops of my balloons so they could hang at a nice angle.
Step-6
Voila!
