Cut the vinyl shapes from red shimmer adhesive vinyl by laying it face up on the LightGrip Cutting Mat and using the shimmer vinyl cut setting.
Once cut, remove the excess vinyl using a weeding tool leaving just the vinyl cut shapes on the backing sheet.
Next cut the felt shapes; start by adding a sheet of green felt onto the FabricGrip Cutting Mat and set your Cricut machine on the felt cut setting.
Once the shapes are cut, carefully remove the pieces from the mat.
Layer up the vinyl and felt pieces onto the decoration bases, adhering the felt pieces with a hot melt glue gun.
Trim away the gold string from the top of each mache decoration. Trim a piece of ribbon to approximately 12cm in length, fold in half and glue the ends to the back of the decoration with a glue gun.
Repeat this process for all of the remaining decorations.

If needed, resize the birds as desired.
Cut the sheets of felt and iron-on for the project using your machine, you can cut felt using the fine point blade or the rotary blade in the Cricut Maker.
Once cut, using a weeding tool to weed the iron-on vinyl sheets, leaving only the designs on the clear carrier sheet that you want to transfer onto the felt birds.
Cut out the individual pieces.
Lay the iron-on vinyl pieces onto the corresponding pieces of felt and secure in place using the EasyPress Mini.
Glue the wings to the front and back of the body using a glue gun.
Cut a short length of ribbon and fold it in half. Glue it onto the centre back of the bird, then glue the back piece of the bird on top to finish.
Repeat this process for all of the remaining cut felt bird shapes.
