How to Make a Diwali Garland
Traditionally, the orange and yellow of marigold garlands used in Diwali symbolise success and new beginnings. This colourful pom pom garland is a wonderful project for celebrating Diwali in your home, and it’s a great project for sharing with others.
Why not get making with friends or family? The winding and threading are wonderfully mindful and offer a great way to spend some time with your loved ones.

You will also need:
*Scissors
Wrap the yarn around each side of the pom pom maker.
Snip with your scissors down the centre sections of the pom pom maker. Tie a length of yarn around the middle tightly to secure.
Carefully take off the pom pom maker and then trim to neaten.
Cut leaf shapes from the green felt.
Thread your needle and pierce through one of the leaves, and then another.
For the pom poms, first find the centre of the pom pom and then sew through it carefully - you’ll need to hold the pom pom gently while you do this to ensure you don’t lose too much yarn from the ball.
Thread through and then repeat with the leaves and more pom poms until you have a full garland. There should be two leaves between each pom pom.
