How to Make a Macramé Heart Wreath

Fix the heart frame on a flat surface with masking tape.

Cut 2 x 3.6 meters of string and tie at the bottom of the heart-shaped metal frame using the Lark's head knot.

Cut 4 x 1.5 meters of string and tie two on each side of the previews strings using the Lark's head knot.

Using string #7 as a guide, tie a diagonal line of Double Half Hitches going from right to left.

Using string #6 as a guide, tie a diagonal line of Double Half Hitches going from left to right.

Take the 6 strings in the middle and tie a Square Knot, making sure that you use the 2 strings in the middle as filler strings.

Close the diamond with two lines of Double Half Hitches.

Next, make a smaller diamond of Double Half Hitches using the 6 strings in the middles only.

Using the 4 strings in the middle, tie a sinnet of Half Square knots 15cm long.

Turn the macrame, cut 1 x 50cm of string and use this to tie a Gathering Knot below the sinnet of Half Square.

Turn your macrame back.

Cut 8 x 1.2 meters of string, and tie 4 on each side of your macrame using the Lark's head knot.

Cut 4 x 2.4 meters of string, fold each string with one end 80 cm long and the other 1.6
meters long. Tie 2 on each side of your macramé using the Lark's head knot, making sure
that the two 80cm ends are in the middle.

Tie a sinnet of Half Square knots 25cm long on both sides.

Turn your macrame. Cut 2 x 50cm of string and use it to tie a Gathering Knot below the two sinnets of Half Square.

Turn your macrame back.

Cut 4 x 1.6 meter of strings. Using the Larks Head Knot, tie two strings next to each sinnets.

Cut the fringe into a 'V' shape, straight or randomly.

Cut 52 x 12cm of string and tie them around the heart frame to cover it using the Lark's head knot. Make your knots tight.

Then, brush the ends of the strings.

Tie a piece of string using the Lark's head knot in the middle of the frame to hang your wreath.
