How to make

Step 1

Use white paint to create a basecoat on the pebbles. This will make it easier to sketch onto.

Step 2

Use the shape of the pebble to determine what animal it will be. For example, this stone was the perfect shape for an orca.

Use a pencil to sketch out the animal shape, acrylic paint will cover up the pencil marks.

Step 3
Paint the outside of the pebble the colour of the animal's habitat (e.g. orca in a dark ocean). This will also help you stay inside the lines.

Step 4
Use a small brush to paint the animal onto the pebble.

Step 5
Once you're happy with your design, add the animal's eyes.

Step 6

You can also add shading and highlights to the animal and it's habitat.

Step 7

Use the tips above to create a selection of story stones and create endless stories!
