Moon (Part One)

CUT:

1.5mt x 6 in Sage

1.3mt x 12 in Ecru

1.2mt x 12 in Terracotta

1.2mt x 6 in Mustard

 

TUTORIAL:

1. Tie 3 x Sage on the moon frame with the Lark’s Head Knot

2. Take string #3 from the left, use it as a guide and tie a diagonal line of Double Half Hitches using strings #2 & #1

3. Take string #4, use it as a guide and tie a diagonal line of Double Half Hitches underneath the previous one. NOTE- leave a small gap at the top.

4. Take string #5, use it as a guide and tie a diagonal line of Double Half Hitches underneath the previous one. NOTE- leave a small gap at the top.

5. Take the last string, use it as a guide and tie a diagonal line of Double Half Hitches underneath the previous one. NOTE- leave a small gap at the top.

6. Using always string #6 as a guide keep tying diagonal lines of Double Half Hitches until you reach the other side of the frame.

7. Depending on the angle of your diagonal line, the last two or three diagonal lines will have fewer Double Half Hitches.

Moon (Part Two)

8. Tie all the strings on the frame with Double Half Hitches.

9. Tie 3 strings in Sage on the moon frame with the Lark’s Head Knot on the left side and follow STEP 2-8 mirrored.

10. Tie 6 strings in Ecru on the right side of the Sage macrame and repeat STEP 2-9.

11. Tie 6 strings of Terracotta on the right side of the macrame repeat STEP 2-9.

12. Tie 3 strings of Mustard on the right side of the macrame and repeat STEP 2-8.

13. Repeat STEP 10-12 on the left side to complete the moon.

14. Trim the fringe to the desired length

Oval (Part One)

CUT:

10 x 2 mt 2 x 1.2mt (filler)

2 x 2.8mt (working)

1 x 70cm (for Gathering Knot)

 

TUTORIAL:

1. Take the 10 strings and place them on the oval frame with the Reversed Lark’s head Knot

2. Tie a row of 5 Square Knots

3. Next, tie a row of 4, 5, 4, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Square Knots

4. Tie two rows of diagonal Half Hitch Knots

5. Add one of the 1.2mt of strings (filler) on each side of the macrame with the Reversed Lark’s Head Knot

6. Take one of the 2.8mt of string and use it to tie a sinnet of Half Square Knots around the filler string about 15 cm long. Repeat on the other side.

7. Join the two sinnets of Half Square Knots with a Square Knot.

Oval (Part Two)

8. Next, tie a row of two Square knots.

9. Next, tie a row of three Square knots adding the first and last two strings from the central macrame.

10. Tie a row of four Square knots adding two strings on each side from the central macrame.

11. Tie decreasing rows of Square Knots to make a diamond shape

12. Turn the macrame and with the unused strings from the central part, tie decreasing rows of Square Knots to make a triangle shape at the same level as the diamond shape.

13. Join the triangle and diamond shape with an Alternating Square Knot.

14. Gathered all the strings together and tie a Gathering Knot.

15. Trim the fringe to the desired length

16. Add a piece of string at the top of the macrame with a Reversed Lark’s Head Knot to hang it.

Rainbow (Part One)

CUT:

Ecru 2 x 3.8 mt

Mustard 2 x 4mt

Terracotta 2 x 4.5mt

Sage 2 x 5mt

Khaki 2 x 6mt

Fringe: each string is 30cm long

 

TUTORIAL:

1. Take the two Ecru strings, place the half point behind the smaller arch on the rainbow frame and tie sinners of Half Square Knots.

2. Continue until you reach the other side, keep the strings excess

3. Starting on the opposite side as the Ecru strings, take the two Mustard strings, place the half point behind the second smallest arch on the rainbow frame and tie sinners of Half Square Knots. Continue until you reach the other side, keep the strings excess

4. Starting on the opposite side as the Mustard strings, take the two Terracotta strings, place the half point behind the middle arch on the rainbow frame and tie sinners of Half Square Knots. Continue until you reach the other side, keep the strings excess

5. Starting on the opposite side as the Terracotta strings, take the two Sage strings, place the half point behind the next arch on the rainbow frame and tie sinners of Half Square Knots. Continue until you reach the other side, keep the strings excess

Rainbow (Part Two)

6. Finally, on the larger arch take the two Khaki strings, place the half point behind the last arch on the rainbow frame and tie sinners of Half Square Knots. Continue until you reach the other side, keep the strings excess

7. Between the Sinnets of Square Knot, you can add fringes on the same colour. Cut the fringe and place them with the Reversed Lark’s Head Knot.

8. Trim the fringe to the desired length
