* Ceramic Baubles with Jute 3 Pack

* Pebeo Gold Pearl Acrylic Paint

* Knitcraft Cream It's Only Natural Light DK Yarn

* Embroidery Scissors

* A Paintbrush

Blue Bauble: Step 1

Remove the twine from the top of the baubles and paint them in your favorite colours or leave them white. I used old egg holders to hold the baubles.

Blue Bauble: Step 2

Cut 14 1m lengths of macramé string.

 

Take one string and make a circle shape.

Take a new string and tie a lark’s head knot over the two ends folding.

Blue Bauble: Step 4
Tie the other 12 string on the circle using the lark’s head knot.

Blue Bauble: Step 5
Place it over the bauble’s top and pull the ends until the strings sit around the top.

Take string #4 from the lark’s head knot over the two ends, one of the ends and the two strings on the right of it.

Blue Bauble: Step 7
Use these 4 strings to make 5 consecutive square knots.

Take the next set of 4 strings and make 5 consecutive square knots.

 

Continue until you have used all the strings.

Leave a gap of 1 or 2cm and tie two alternative square knots.

 

Repeat all around.

Leave a gap of 1 or 2cm and tie the final row of three alternative square knots.

Repeat all around.

Leave a gap of 1 or 2cm and tie an alternative square knot. Tie 4 consecutive square knots underneath.

 

Gather all the strings at the bottom of the bauble, cut 1 x 40cm of string, and tie a gathering knot.

 

Slide the gathering knot up to the bottom of the bauble, you can pull each string down to neaten. Cut the tassel at the desired length.

Gold Bauble: Step 1

Repeat Step 1-5 from 'Blue Bauble'.

Take string #4 from the lark’s head knot over the two ends, one of the ends and the two strings on the right of it.

 

Use these 4 strings to make 15-20 consecutive square knots.

 

The number will vary dispensing on the tension of your knots.

 

Repeat with all the strings.

Gold Bauble: Step 3

Gather all the strings at the bottom of the bauble, cut 1 x 40cm of string, and tie a gathering knot.

 

Slide the gathering knot up to the bottom of the bauble.

 

You can pull each string down to neaten. Cut the tassel at the desired length.

Place it over the bauble’s top and pull the ends until the strings sit around the top.

Repeat with all the strings.

Repeat all around.
