You will need
Cut the following lengths:
24 x 60cm
1 x 25cm
Using the 30cm length string, thread through the cinnamon stick and tie in a knot. Move the knot to be inside of the cinnamon stick. If this isn't possible, attach the string to either side of the cinnamon stick.
Secure the cinnamon stick to your work space. Using the Larks Head knot, fold each remaining string in half and attach to the cinnamon stick.
For this project we will be using 2 strings together throughout the project. Take the first 8 strings and create a square knot.
Work squares knots with the remaining strings.
Work a row of alternative square knots.
Work a further 2 rows of alternate square knots.
Separate the first and last 8 strings.
Work a row of alternate square knots with remaining strings.
Keep working alternate square knots and separating 4 strings on each side for each row making each row have one less square knot. Repeat until you only have one square knot on a row.
Using first 2 strings as a guide work a diagonal row of double half hitch knots to the centre of the point.
Repeat on the other side.
Repeat last 2 steps twice more, completing 3 rows of double half hitch knots on each side in total
Cut fringe to desired length and hang on your tree or use as part of your gift wrap.
