Step 1 - Making Striped Paper

First, we need some red and white striped paper. If you don't have any, here is a how-to on making your own!

Cut some red paper into 1cm strips. Glue the first red strip diagonally at one corner of a piece of white cardstock already cut to fit the outer box side. Lay another strip next but do not glue, glue the next strip then lifting the unglued strip to use again as a guide. This will create an even spacing. Repeat until the whole panel is covered.

Step 2 - Decorating the Box

Separate the three layers of the main box, cut and layer a white panel on to each of the twelve pages. Use a corner punch to round the corners.

Step 3

Lay out each panel using patterned papers, ephemera, stickers and wooden shapes. Create a photo panel on a few of the pages and add a handful of written sentiments. Decorate the die cut shapes in a similar style. Play about with all the bits and pieces, adding more photos panels here and there.

Step 4

Decorate the smaller gift box with a snowy scene running around the edge, finishing off with a starry sky.

Step 5

Die-cut a star shape then punch a hole to create a tag. Adhere a couple of ephemera shapes to the tag. Tie the box with ribbon, threading the tag before tying a bow.
