How to Make Macrame Bunny Plant Pods
Put a seasonal twist on macrame plant hangers with these bunny plant pods! They're the perfect way to display smaller plants in your home, especially as you embrace all things spring. These seasonal details are a great way to refresh your home décor.
This is the ideal project for beginners as it focuses on the square knot, which is one of the first knots you'll learn.

* Masking Tape
* Scissors
* Knitcraft Return of the Mac Yarn 200g - Ecru and Linen
Size:
Pod 6 cm dia x 6cm height
With fringe 40 cm height
Cut:
8x200 cm
14 x 140 cm
1 x 60cm
Take 4 x 200cm strings, place them next to eachother on a flat surface and mark the half way point with a piece of masking tape.
Starting from under the tape tie 11 consecutive Square Knots (tie 8 if you want to make
smaller ears)
Turn your macrame and tie 11 consecutive Square Knots going the opposite way (tie 8
if you want to make smaller ears)
Fold the sinnet of 22 square knots in half and tape it flat, on the table. (16 square knots
for smaller ears)
Make a Square Knot with the 4 strings in the middle.
Repeat steps 1-5 to make the second ear- place it next to the first one.
Make a Square Knot with the 4 strings in the middle.
Starting on the left, take on of the 140cm string, fold it in half and place it on the left of
string #1
Make a Square knot.
Repeat Step 8-9 on the right side
Putting aside the first 2 and last two strings, tie a row of 4 Square knots
Take 2 x 140cm strings, fold them in half and tape them on the table with masking tape.
Make a Square Knot
Pull the two strings in the middle.
You should have no loops at the top of the Square Knot
Repeat with all your remaining strings
Take one of the new Square Knots and place it on the right of your macrame work, fix it
on the table with masking tape.
Make an Alternating Square Knot using string #1 & #2 from the added Square Knot and
the last two strings from your macrame work.
Add another new Square Knot on the right and repeat Step 18.
Repeat Step 19 one more time
Repeat Steps 17-20 on the left side.
Join your work at the front, by taking the first two and the last two strings and tying a
Square Knot.
Keep tying rows of Alternating Square Knots until you have 7 rows.
Take all the string and using the 60cm piece of string, tie a Gathering Knot.
To add the Picot Knot (butterfly), take 4 strings and make 2 Square Knots 1 finger-space
apart.
Push gently the bottom Square Knot up to create two 'wings'
Tie a new Square Knots, 1 finger-space below and repeat Step 26.
Make as many Butterfly (Picot Knots) as you wish
Trim your fringe at the desired length.
